Here’s the first post for blog.digistori.info as well as my first animated GIF.
Overall the process for making the GIF was not too bad. I ended up using GIMP with GAP; there were some bugs in trying to get the .mp4 converted into a GIF but I managed to figure it out eventually.
The hardest part about making this animated GIF was finding all resources to do it. First I tried it with Photoshop only to find out that my Photoshop (CS2) doesn’t support the video to GIF process. Then I had to try to find the Animation package for GIMP which took a while. Finally I was trying to use the program that Martha used to get a clip from a DVD (Handbrake) but I got junk for the clip. I finally ended up getting a Google Chrome extension to download a video from YouTube.
The good news is that the next time I need to make an animated GIF I’ll be all set up for it .
