This assignment was interesting to me because I had always wanted to get my websites to the point of advertising them on the internet.  Here was a chance to do that in an interesting way.  For this assignment I chose to publicize my music web blog Hipster Beatnik.  I created this website almost a year ago with my friends, and we chose the name because we wanted to poke fun at all the different music clics that dominate the music blogosphere.

To get started I found pictures of both “hipsters” and “beatniks.”  I wanted to keep the original satiric tone of the name, so I wanted the advertisement to have a similarly sarcastic tone.  I found pictures where it looks like the subjects of the photographs are condescending.  After that I used the color scheme I had chosen when I designed my website, and used the logo that I had also created then.  I am in the process of updating the design to be more modern and to give the website a more cohesive look, and I will certainly update the advertisement then.
