Daily Creates: Week of March 19

I actually wanted to do a bunch of the Daily Creates early this week, especially the one on luck, but although I thought about what I was going to say all day…I ran out of time to do them. So to make up for it I knew I wanted to do the Daily Creates this weekend, so I did yesterday’s and today’s.

Yesterday’s assignment was to find and photograph a tree with “soul.” I wandered around for a good 30 minutes looking for an acceptable tree; fortunately it was perfect weather for a walk and it was actually really enjoyable. I found this tree by the canal path. I was attracted to it because it was one of the bigger trees in the area, so it was probably older than all the rest, and the very top of it is kind of bent, so it looked to me like an elderly person with bent and tired shoulders.

Today’s assignment was to take a self-portrait that does not include your face. This was easy for me because I have a lot of stuff that I feels represents me: my breeches for riding, my favorite shoes (Sperry’s!), my UMW rugby jersey, and I’m holding a rugby ball and a book. Taking this picture was a little frustrating though, I had to use Photobooth on my computer because there’s no one around to take a picture of me, and in order to get my whole body I had to prop my computer on several pillows…but I prevailed –
