Final Project Class Brainstorm

In class I talked with Hannah about final project possibilities. She is working on a video project documenting parts of her work as a barista. She’s thinking about about showcasing various aspects of the job through a series of vintage style educational videos. She mentioned showing the process for how to make various drinks, and all of this reminded me of the awesome latte art gif she did back in visual/design week.  So I suggested that she include some more examples of the process of making various latte designs.

I’ve changed my mind about my own project about a thousand times.  It started out as an idea for an animated video, which I still would like to do, but which is completely over-ambitious.  Instead I’m working on a series of illustrations and animated gifs that are based off a story I’m working on for another class.  I’d like them to stand apart from the written version and tell most of it through the visuals alone, with only minimal written text, graphic novel style.  Hannah suggested presenting the written version online with the visual work, and to possibly frame it to look like a book turning pages, which is an interesting suggestion and has me rethinking the presentation a bit. This would be dependent on finding something that can do this and is easy enough to work with, but could be pretty cool. More on that later, it’s hard to judge without more of the visual work completed.
