I really wasn’t sure what I wanted to do with this project, so I basically just collected various sounds with my phone recorder for a few weeks.
I just recorded several sounds from my life for about a week and a half trying to figure out what to do.
I just played around with Audacity here and there.
I basically thought about the fact that the assignment should tell a story of some sort, so I tried to do something a little on the dramatic side.
For the rain, I recorded actual rain but the sound wasn’t that interesting or dramatic, and it didn’t sound very clear.
I used a rain stick and recorded the sound from that.
For the dogs barking, I just layered the dog barking from my neighbor’s house because the singular dog bark didn’t sound that great on it’s on.
It was kind of fun, I’d like to learn how to manipulate the sounds more to achieve a more dramatic effect.
