Chipmunking Taylor Swift

Mainstream Chipmunkd’

The object of this assignment is to take a mainstream artist and chipmunk them. As we reflect on our childhoods we realize that all the chipmunks were an awesome bunch and it is really easy to do this assignment. All you need is any kind of musical editing software like MIXXX and Virtual DJ (which are free). Second either raise the BPM (beats per minute) or edit pitch of the track. If it is a slower track just raise the tempo and try to give the song an upbeat personality. Make sure to tag your assignment and have fun!

This is a 3 star assignment.

I had a lot of fun with this audio assignment.  I love Alvin and the Chipmunks so it was fun to chipmunk a popular song.  The song used is Taylor Swift’s We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together.  This song has been top in iTunes for quite a while now.  What I first did was have to convert my iTunes version of the song to a .WAV file so I could import it to Audacity.  I wasn’t sure how to go about this but I googled converting a song to a .WAV file on iTunes and found this helpful tutorial on the Apple website.  After importing my song to Audactiy I then went to effects and then change pitch.  I changed the pitch up from F to A sharp/B flat.  Then I listened to the song to see if it sounded like the chipmunks and it did.  I then uploaded this file to Soundcloud.

While Soundcloud was taking forever to upload I decided to create a artwork picture for my Soundcloud audio file.  I found the album art work for the single of the song here on google images.  I then uploaded it to Photoshop Editor and added the work Chipmunkd’.
