Vacay!

So, it’s the end of the semester, and Alan wanted to go on vacation!  We were supposed to use Mozilla Popcorn Maker to to add 8 things to remix his already created video.

  • An unusual image or video on the laptop screen.
  • A SoundCLoud music track to start playing when the turntable appears.
  • A Google map and wikipedia article when the map is opened.
  • A twitter search over the twitter screenshot.
  • A photo or video of a valuable object insider the drawer.
  • Text to fill in your information on the screen of the ds106 grade assignment.
  • An image or video of something unexpected inside the suitcase.
  • A video to show at the end of the video that shows the destination.

Unfortunately, Popcorn Maker deleted my progress four times and I couldn’t get an audio clip from soundcloud on it.  Instead, I used Windows Movie Maker to create the video.  I downloaded the original video via YouTube.  At each point where I was supposed to add something, I had to split the video in order to add a photo and instead of pop up messages, I used text slides.

I’m sort of glad I was forced to use Windows Movie Maker. Popcorn Maker was extremely frustrating to use and I honestly hated it.  I did the same movie remix which took me hours to do via Popcorn, in  20 minutes in Windows.

I know how much Alan loves cats (HAH), so I made sure to add lots of cat photos.  Australia just popped into my head as the first place to travel, so there wasn’t much thought as to which destination to choose from.  The song I chose, Land Down Under by Men at Work, fit the Australia theme perfectly.

Enjoy your vacation Alan!
