Okay, ready, reflect! Today was a good day. I learned a lot today. I made my first youtube video. I posted myself, in a video, online. Something I don’t EVER do.

I had my reservations about this course. When I inquired about openings in the course, I never expected to get a reply, and I had no idea what it was about. I knew it was digital storytelling, and that sounded interesting. I read the daunting course description, and I was intimidated, but I couldn’t say no. Will I regret it next week? Maybe, but I don’t think so. I’ve needed a creative outlet for a while, and this could be it.

Setting up the blog didn’t scare me, and signing up for the Flickr, Twitter, and Soundcloud accounts didn’t either. Making the video was tough. I don’t like being on camera, but I need to get used to speaking in front of an audience, and videos seem like a good way to ease into it.

Here’s my intro post:

And here’s a small post about the westerns I was exposed to in my youth:

The western genre is not something I have been seriously interested in. This week I will have to spend some time exploring more western themed movies, music and art. Here’s to challenge!
