Week 6 Visual Assignment – That’s Not What I Expected

This week’s assignment was to take a close up picture of something as see if people can guess what it is. The task requirement says "Try doing the skin or outside of something that would make it hard for someone to guess!" So here is my work. Can you guess what it is?

This was how did I accomplish the assignment.
I found this task can be easily associated with my garden theme. So I took my EOS camera and went to my front yard trying to get some close-up of some of the flowers. The first couple tries were not so great. Even I took the shots close enough, it was quite obvious that they looked like flowers.
When I was walking around trying to find something else to shoot, I noticed a dried leaf on the lawn and took a picture of it. Looking at the patterns on the back of the leaf, I got the feeling that it is what I was looking for.
The original look of the picture I took.

When I came back into my house, I opened the picture withPisart Appon my iPad. Then I cropped a rectangle shape in the middle of leaf image so that there is no border of the leaf and back ground showing on the cropped image. Pisart App provides color editing function so I change the hue of the image into green, also adding a frame to the image. After my work was finished, I asked my daughter to guess what it looks like. She told me " It was like woods". Well, that was what I had in my mind originally! Yay! I made it. The photo editing process was fairly easy. It was finding the right object to take a close-up photo that took me a while to figure out. But I am happy with the final result and totally worth of the time and effort.
