Supporting Music in Online Learning

Here my research partners and I have gathered many useful sites to use, starting today.   These valuable resources can be used to compliment any online lesson plans you are making or have used in the past.

1.) Sonic Squirrel: access here

Sonic Squirrel is a site dedicated to providing music under open licenses that can be previewed and downloaded for free.  Made available through creative commons, the music you find here is available to members for free.

2.) Vocaroo: Vocaroo.com

Best site developed to record and share audio clips.  I made this short clip in 3 seconds: sharable clip talk about making a connection with your students on the go!

On Sound Cloud you can create your own playlists and audio tracks and share them with your students.

Although the features are a bit limited, this is just another great app you can use to make a short video and share it with your students.  Some examples are, addressing questions or connecting while you are traveling.  It is good for basic presentations.  You get to make a custom animated character- which is really fun! You can set up a Spreaker account to record podcasts and share them instantly vis phone or laptop.

6.) BookTracks:  Listen now!  Sound Tracks for Books!

We found this gem online while searching for audio clips. This site hosts several audiobooks with synchronized movie-style soundtracks!  This adds easy listening for students who just hate all the text reading day in and day out.

Here you can record live audio, edit sound files, and easily use this site to record and edit sounds.

For the low price of .99 cents you can download this fun app to help manage the classroom or motivate students to learn.  Download on your device, and simply tap the user friendly icons to play a sound that students can connect with.  Using this in live recored videos my be an otpion for teachers as well. (quick and easy)
