“What Does Storytelling Have to Do with Business?”

It has been 3.5 years that I’ve been studying in Business but I never thought that a storytelling could take part as a marketing strategy. If a shoe is meant to help someone with heel pain, “we don’t just state that fact, but we tell the story of someone for whom it made a difference,” says Trish Tobin, chief marketing officer. This quote from the article stood out because facts are not convincing enough to get the attentions from potential customers nowadays. This is where storytelling can be very useful and effective. For instance, in marketing, people can be easily pursuaded by someone who is trustworthy and by that person presenting a real story, it brings more credibility that makes you consider buying or using whatever the product/service that the person has experienced. It would be interesting to see how much further storytelling can be integrated into other fields of discipline.
