So, I always get an uneasy feeling talking about something about which I think people already know, but I thought I’d mention the Prelinger Archives anyhow (just in case you don’t know).  What we have here is a collection of “ephemeral” (advertising, educational, industrial, and amateur) films, ripe for mashup, remix, re-imagining, redistribution, etc.  Some terrific content is to be found, and the movies can be easily downloaded in a variety of formats for use in original projects, perhaps like those that could be a part of ds106.  Lots of fodder for critique and analysis on topics such as nationalism, homophobia, racism, social mores, sexuality, etc.  Oh, and the classic “Duck and Cover.“
