I’m proud of all the work I’ve done for this course. I always put my best into everything I do and Digital Storytelling has been no exception. Still the output of my classmates has been so outstanding it’s been tough to keep up. Sometimes though I’m surprised when I create some pretty outstanding things myself. These are my favorite digital creations I’ve made in DS106 so far.
First, my Daily Shoot photos. This one got by far the best response and it’s definitely my favorite as well.
I didn’t even truly realize how cool it looks when I took it or even submitted it. I was just glad that I had stumbled upon an interesting and unique subject and I didn’t have to worry about the assignment anymore. Soon it started receiving some lovely comments. My reaction was of course one of appreciation, but at the same time I thought, “Really? It’s just the binding of a notebook.” Then I really started to look at it and saw what a pleasing perspective it is, and it hit me that it actually is really cool.
Next is this photo of a plasma globe. Not only does it stand out, but I think it has the most interesting story out of all my shots.
I put by far the most effort into creating this shot. It took hours to come up with the concept and put it together. I think I succeeded in developing a unique idea and I like the way it turned out.
I’m also very happy with my 5 Card Flickr Story titled “Running Shoes.” I had try this assignment several times before I came up with a story I liked. It was difficult not having complete control over the creative process here, but I don’t think I could have come up with anything better than the result even if I handpicked the images.
Of course my playlist poem “No Sleep Tonight” is some of my best work as well. It too received a great response and I appreciate it because I put a lot of thought into it. I had fun making it too and I’m glad Call_lean came up with the assignment.
I hope you enjoy my work so far as much as I’ve enjoyed making it, and I look forward to the challenges to come.
