Rebecca Black’s Facebook Wall

I know some people are tired of hearing about Rebecca Black and Friday, and that’s understandable, but I’m still pretty fascinated by the whole thing. I’ve had the song stuck in my head for over a week and I must have watched the video 20 times. The music video inspired me to retell its story if it took place on Facebook. I modified my Facebook profile with Firebug and transformed it into “Rebecca Black’s.” I may have also added to the story a little bit to make it more realistic.

This was my first experience with Firebug, and I’m not going to lie, it was tedious, confusing, frustrating work, and this is coming from someone who’s familiar with HTML, CSS, etc. Definitely not the most fun assignment we’ve had. That said, it turned out exactly like I’d hoped so it was worth it.

Before you read the story I should point out that this is meant as satire of the characters from the video, and it’s not intended to be mean or to be a portrayal of the real Rebecca Black. I think a lot of people are being really hard on her and I do feel bad about that. Personally I think Rebecca Black is awesome and I think she should be proud that she’s entertained so many people and that she’s inspired creations like this.

Anyway, here it is. Hope you like it. It will obviously make most sense if you read it from the bottom up.
