Vancouver loses to Boston but I’ve got my first project done. Not only that but completed with free software – as per Jim Groom’s suggestion and as befits the nature of my newly stripped down MacBook. I cheated once and used Gimp on a Windows 7 machine (much easier installation). I installed the Easy Youtube Downloader extension for Firefox to download the clip and MPEG Streamclip to grab the snippet I needed. Gimp made short work of the animated gif conversion. The interface for the Windows version wasn’t exactly as Jim had in his intro piece but I was able to work it out.

I have a hard time nailing down a favorite movie but this one certainly had high ranking for a long period in my life. It also accurately describes my daughter’s reaction to tonight’s game. I’ve kept it to 1.7MB which I think is fairly good considering I used 34 images to capture all the Franco-taunting goodness.
