Michael Wesch presented at UMW. Where was I during this?!?! One of the most profound things that he said during his presentation was..

“Identity is what is reflected back to you.”

Honestly, I had never thought about it this way before. My whole life I believed my identity was who I was inside. Wesch is offering the exact opposite idea. I have to agree with him. However, I believe it is both what is on the inside and what comes back at me. My identity on the inside contributes to how I act and therefore how people perceive me.

Virtual life is growing exponentially. Am I able to keep up. Wesch made me realize I have much to learn about the digital/technological world. Thankfully, I am enrolled in ds106.
