I just finished the most delicious mid-afternoon snack I have had in quite some time!

It was the inspiration for this post. Allow me to set the scene….

Today has been a very pleasant day, even though it is a Monday. This semester Monday’s are actually my most relaxed and enjoyable day of the week (excluding Saturdays). On Monday’s I only have one class, and don’t have to work, making it a super day where I just get to do my own thing and not have to rush around.

So on this particular lovely Monday, I woke up at 6:45am (per-usual), went to the gym, got back to my room at 8:30am, showered, had my breakfast (and coffee), and dilly dallied on the web until 9:45am when I left for class. I had historic prez 305 (one of my most enjoyable classes) where we talked about the anatomy and chemical structure of wood. After class I decided a trip to Giant was in order.

Grocery shopping is one of my favorite activities ever. It’s just so relaxing! You get to walk around isles filled with interesting products and pick out new items you want to try out and restock on all your favorite staples. I wont bore you with the complete list of my purchases (’cause I  know your eyes must be glued to your screen this far with this riveting post!) but I will tell you about one in particular.

I bought a “SunRype Fruitsource” bar. Mango Strawberry flavor. So scrumptious!! I have never ate one before, but it looked intriguing on the shelf, so it ended up in my basket…. and my tummy. It kind of tasted (and looked) like an adult fruit-roll-up. It was just the perfect level of sweetness and only 120 calories, so a definite win! To accompany my mid-afternoon “fruitsource” bar, I had a mid-afternoon cup of coffee. Hazelnut to be precise. While at Panera this weekend with my friend Kaitlyn, I refilled my to-go cup so I could bring it back to my room and drink it as ice coffee later. So it was highly anticipated. But with a Splenda and a splash of vanilla almond milk, it definitely lived up to my expectations!

Between the snacks (and caffeine) and the relaxing do-what-I-want day, I am in quite a good mood! (Sorry if that wasn’t as pleasant for you to read as it was for me to experience. I think its one of those “had to be there” situations. :/ )
