10 STAR Visual Assignments

In the last few weeks we have been playing a lot with Photoshop and other editing tools! I have been having so much fun with all the different ways to edit pictures and also all the ways to take a good photo.  The main thing is trying to make a picture unique and interesting that will make your audience want to see it! I have been using picnik, which offers dozens of great editing tools!

I think that these visual assignments would make a great/fresh homework assignment for a class. It offers students to do something creative and new, while learning a new and useful skill at the same time!

Here are the 10 stars in visual assignments:

(**2 stars) The first assignment I completed was the common everyday object. I took a picture of my pen jar.  It seems like pens disappear into thin air.  I always go through my pens so fast (it is definitely an everyday object). I edited the photo on the picnik site(linked above), and use some negative color changes to make the picture look manipulated!

(**2 stars) the next visual assignment was to create a picture that uses the editing tool Color Splash!!! I used picnik for this assignment as well. I chose to use a photo from prom because I thought it would work best to show off the effects! I love the color contrast and how it makes my necklace stand out so much!!!

(***3 stars) I loved this assignment!!! Normal to extraordinary!  When I was doing this assignment I felt like the people that work for magazines; editing and airbrushed models so that they look perfect!! This girl was beautiful before, however, once I edited her- she became perfect… something for little girls and young women to idolize!

Normal- to- Extraordinary

(**2 stars) the next assignment I did was finding my name in the evvironment around me! I knew I had to do the assignment because when I was visiting family in Arizona I took a picture of this store called “Liv”.. I remembering thinking it was so awesome!! The only thing that wasn’t awesome was the prices of the clothes! YIKES!! :)

(*1 star) The last of the 10 stars, was this simple photoshop assignment where you “colorize your world” by playing around with the colors of an image!! I picked Disney Princess, Cinderella.  I changed both her hair and dress to grey in photoshop.
