This American Life – What I Did For Love – BS

I really enjoyed the first song that was played on the podcast. It was super sad but had such a great sound to it that really brought me in. The first story was pretty funny but was also very weird to me. I never would agree to do what they did. It made sense later when they said that they felt that their relationship had ran its course and this elaborate plan gave them a way out. There were no problems with the relationship except that they both wanted out of it but couldn’t admit that to each other.

In the second story an undercover officer at a high school got one of the students to sell her weed. The student’s emotions were running high because she was really attractive from what he says and he really liked her. So, when she asked for some weed, he did what he had to do so he could get her some so he could “impress” her. Β This is one reason you never change yourself to please someone else. His life is ruined now with this felony charge.

Jeanne Darst’s story about her snooping through an old boyfriend’s journal to figure out what he really thought of her gave her more information than she really wanted. He was cheating on her with at least two other women and said that she was raising red flags about their future. He wasn’t attracted to white women. She is white and he isn’t attracted to white women. How does that work? Jeanne says she felt bad for snooping but is glad she did it.
