It has been found that with the rise of the use of technology within classrooms around the United States, digital citizenship is being taught more and more to students. Before incorporating technology into the classroom, teachers need to decide what various kinds of elements of digital citizenship they want their students to have in the classroom. The article read for class on Thursday, Nine Elements, outlines nine different types of elements incorporated into digital citizenship. I found this article to be extremely helpful because it outlines what these nine elements are, and how they relate to the classroom. Without this article, I would not have been as schooled on what digital citizenship is. I now know how I’m going to incorporate digital citizenship into my curriculum, and how important it is to include students on what your expectations of what digital citizenship is, before they start researching, or producing technological works.
