Summary of Summaries

I will be completely honest. Organizing my blog was a pain in the ass!!! I guess it’s my own fault because I kind of just grouped everything into the “Assignment” category all semester, so naturally I’m going to have to subdivide it a little more. So I officially have my blog organized into Assignments Created, Audio Assignments, Best of Work, Design Assignments, Final Project, Mashup/Remix Assignments, The Daily Create, The End, Tutorials, Video Assignments, Visual Assignments, and Web 2.0 (and yes, that’s in alphabetical order). At least it looks all nice and pretty now. And it’ll be easy to access for my meeting with Jim Groom on Thursday.

Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to archive my blog on UMW Blogs yet. I guess there are some issues happening with it?? Who knows. I’ll be sure to do that when I can, though. Sadly enough, I have to admit I’ll probably be letting my blog go. As much as I would like to keep it, I know I won’t have enough time or energy to give it as much attention as it deserves. I don’t know. I’ve put a lot of work into it, I’d hate to see it go to waste. Maybe I will jump on the Hippie Hosting service bandwagon and host my blog forever. That way, I can at least come back to it if I feel like updating some stuff, or keeping up with all of DS106 past, present, and future. Ahhh I can’t make a decision!!!

So I finished up my final project, and wrote a summary of it. Go check it out! I love love loved doing my final project. It was so amazing getting to experience everything that I did and then turn around and share it with all of you. Wonderful!!! I won’t reflect on it too much here because it has its own summary. But I will say that it working at Hartwood Animal Hospital just for the past six weeks has been a life-changing experience, and I can’t wait for it to continue the way it’s been going.

Last but not least, I created my little final reflection video. I just talked a little bit about my views on the class and what I got out of it. I won’t lie, a little bit of sadness came over me when I was thinking about what I was going to say in the video. I realized that I’m actually going to miss this class! It wasn’t really my cup of tea at the beginning of the semester, but it grew on me. I think a lot of it had to do with the work of everyone else involved with DS106; it’s inspiring to see an online community bloom like this one has. It was a great experience and I genuinely hope I’ll be able to partake in another course like this one at some point in the future. Thanks everyone. :)
