For my final project I decided to create a music video and do a photo shoot. The featured artist is my brother, Anthony.

This project was actually harder than I thought it would be, not that I thought that it would be super easy, but the fact that I had to download different programs to make this work, it made it very time consuming. I usually just need to use one program which is Windows MovieMaker Live, however I ended up using CyberLink PowerDirector 10, which is actually a pretty good software, only if it’s the full version though.

The problem started with my desktop where I use the standard version of Windows Movie Maker. It was really slow, and I had to keep on force closing it. So I moved to my laptop where I have Windows Live. It was way better but it was really lagging making the work very difficult to do. Then I turned to IMovie, and since I’m not a mac user I had no clue on what I was doing. I was still determined on doing this particular project, so I installed PowerDirector. The only problem I had was that it was a trail version so i was very limited and I ended up using Windows Movie Maker Live to edit the final project. I was really shocked to see the final product from PowerDirector because they had the audacity to shove “CyberLink PowerDirector TRAIL VERSION” in the corner of the video. Overall i didn’t like the video, I am going to do it over once I find a compatible software for my laptop.

Furthermore, the photo shoot went well. Due to time limitations I wasn’t able to edit the photos I took the way I wanted to. But they came out really nice to me.

Here’s What it looks like using PowerDirector and MovieMaker Live:

These programs are basically a drag and drop program. The trick is trimming, placing the video in the right place and matching it with the audio. The fun part is adding effects, transitions and titles. As you can see PowerDirector is way more complex than MovieMaker  Live. It has more features including 3-D options, customizable text and animations, video cropping, audio and video enhancer and a lot more. I don’t know if I would purchase PowerDirector, but I will use it until my trail days are over.
