Audio Storytelling

From listening to Ira Glass and Jad Abumrad I learned some key points on Audio Storytelling.

Ira Glass states that the important thing is to understand the building blocks of a story.  Make it different from what you learned in high school.  There are two different building blocks the antidote (story in its purest form) and moment of reflection (why the hell your listening to this story.) Looking for stories is just as important, it takes you longer to find an interesting story than it does to produce one.

Jad Abumrad thinks that the cool thing about radio is what it lacks (i.e. no pictures or visuals.)  It creates a co-authorship which allows the listener to create the picture or visual to the story.  Power is rooted in the human voice the way the voice rises and falls it acts as the engine to everything we do.
