My Favorite Things: Bracelets and the Ocean (DC9)

Once upon a time…

There was a girl named Lauren who had many favorite things. She hates the cold, so her favorite part of shoes are her flipflops that she wears pretty much every day. She loves getting new, free tshirts and she loves tiedying tshirts with her friends. So her favorite tshirt is a shirt she tiedyed with her friends two years ago for Valentines Day. She loves sentimental things. Her favorite bracelet is the one her mom gave her for her birthday right before she went to college. Her favorite trinket is a shoe that her great aunt gave her a couple years before she passed away.

One of her most prized possessions is the bracelet her mother gave her for her birthday the year she went away to college. This bracelet really means a lot to her because her mother thought about it when she bought it and put lots of thought and heart and love into it and whenever she puts it on, she smiles because of this. This is a grey leather Pandora bracelet. When her mother gave it to her, there were two charms on it and each gift-giving holiday that passes, her mother has added one so that now there are four charms. The first two were a “journey bead” and a bead with peridot, her birthstone. The journey represents the new journey that she was about to begin (COLLEGE) and the birthstone marks her month of birth. Next, she received a Celtic knot bead. This Celtic knot is a design that her and her mother both love and so they share that love. The fourth was an ocean bead because they both love the ocean, the beach, and the water.

Prized Possession

This girl Lauren loves the ocean so much and one of her favorite movies about the ocean and everything it holds is Finding Nemo. Bruce, the huge shark, says a very important line in the movie that enables Marlin and Dory to continue on in their search for Nemo, which is: “Fish are friends, not food.”
