Weekly Summary for week 10

The video editing tools that I have at my disposal include iMovie, MPEG Streamclip, itunes, GIMP, online convertors, GarageBand and Audacity.  The past few weeks I have become more familiar with GIMP and Audacity, which can help to add images to the videos to be created and background noises.  The first university I went to gave us all mac book pros along with itouches and equipment to connect computers to do projects.  WIth all this new equipment they showed up a basic tutorial to work our new computers, which included a class in working iMovie and garageband.  I got a basic lesson on both applications, but I don’t feel completely comfortable saying I know how to use them to their full capacity.  I used MPEG Streamclip for one assignment this week and it went rather well.  I watched the tutorial that was provided by my instructor and that made the transition into using MPEG Streamclip for the first time easier.

One assignment that I had to do this week was to observe a movie clip through different perspectives and see how each perspective conveys a different message/meaning and then when they are put together they aid in conveying each others messages while conveying a new message all together. The different aspects of the clip was analyzed through a basic understanding of Ebert’s “Reading Movies”  The blog for this assignment is linked below….

The second assignment we had to do this week was to find interesting facts about the making of the movie, production information, and the genre of the movie.  In the blog a clip montage containing two parts of the movie was created and inserted into the blog, the link to the blog is below….

We then had to do a post on two video assignments we might do next week.  I chose the ones i found to look the coolest and somewhat challenging, where I would have to use applications in ways I have not used them yet.  The blog for the pre production of the video assignments is linked below….

The last thing I did this week was review the daily creates assignments I did through out the week and write a blog on the story behind them and how the media used were published. The blog for my daily creates is linked below….
