Can’t Hold Us Puppets!

This week I got to combine two of my current favorite pieces of media, Neil’s Puppet Dreams and Macklemore’s music. These worked well together, I discovered, when doing the Four-Star Watching Movies With The Stereo On assignment.

To do the assignment, I used KeepVid to download

NPH & JOE MANGANIELLO crash DAVID BURTKA’S DREAM BUMP – Neil’s Puppet Dreams from Youtube. I then opened it in iMovie and inserted Can’t Hold Us Down by Macklemore and Ryan Lewis f/Ray Dalton from my iTunes library. I trimmed the video clip down, removing the opening and the credits and added my own title card and end credits.

I think that Can’t Hold Us speaks more to David’s dream in the scene which Neil tries to join into. While David’s dream is celebratory and happy, Neil’s is not, and Neil does not like this. The song is reflective of how despite Neil’s disproval of David’s awesome dream, David keeps on partying and celebrating.
