Weekly Summary – Week 3

Third week done! I was busy with assignments for my other classes this week, so I got a bit behind on my DS106 assignments. I managed to finish them all in time, though! I did quite a lot this week:

1) Daily Creates

I decided to be super meta with the first daily create. I waited until 12 people had posted their own daily creates, then took a picture of them all together.

That “wood nymph” reminded me of a spriggan (I’m a giant Elder Scrolls fan), so I first thought of the Skyrim soundtrack when I saw the picture.

It’s just a bunch of dots and lines.

2) Assignment Bank

I made lots of art for these, but to save space, just go the links to see them:

  1. My first assignment this week was to make glitch art. I decided to make glitch art of the Mona Lisa, since it’s the most recognisable painting in the world, and it turned out really well when glitched.
  2. My second assignment was to make an album cover using some random phrases and images. I actually really like how it turned out!
  3. For my third assignment, I made a little abstract image showing how the internet connects people, even though this might leave out those who can’t access it. It was super difficult to find a Visual Assignment that could relate to the theme of the internet, but I think I did decently relating this one.

3) Article Responses

Only one article response this week (even though it’s a response to three short articles). It made me think quite a bit about photography! I’ve never been big into photography, so I learned a lot from the articles.

4) Photography Stuff

  1. I found a bunch of cool photos from Flickr that demonstrated the important things in making a good photograph. They can be found here.
  2. Also did a photoblitz this week. I actually managed to finish it in only 16 minutes out of the allotted 20! I’ll admit I had to refresh the photoblitz page until I found a list I thought I could do, but I think it turned out pretty well in the end.

I’m glad that this week is over, and that I got everything done in time.
