Less than three weeks ago
The arboretum glowed in all its russet beauty
Today the leaves are gone
Ground bare
Trees stripped of their fulsome overblown display
Stark skeletal branches
Clad now in icy binary
Snow laid thick upon snow
The ground a mirror
Not of autumns rich array
But blank and unyielding,
Innocent White
Arboretum
