Hey class, I wanted to put together my plan for our show Monday and share it with you. Of course I realize that you guys probably would have like to know about this yesterday, or even Thursday, but I didn’t have a concrete plan then. Even with this plan, we need to remember that this will be a Live show, which means that there will likely be some deviation. This is especially true in that I’m not writing a word-for-word script that I will follow, rather a plan that I’ll work off. The main point that I’m pushing today is that I need those segments from everyone, the sooner the better, as I need to have a chance to get them off Dropbox and have time to listen to them before Monday morning. Also, if anyone would like to volunteer to have their segment go first I’d be grateful, otherwise I’ll stick the segments into a itunes playlist and press shuffle and then let you guys know when to expect to be going. Just so you guys know, I won’t have a concrete order for you to look at until Monday morning, but I’ll try to get it out well before class.

I’ll be doing pre-production setup before our scheduled class meeting time so that we can start the broadcast as early as possible. The show will likely take a minimum of an hour, so we should try to start at 10:30, or as close as we can get to it, in order for us to not have the show run past the regular time for the class to end.

My show plan:

• An introduction, which will be me introducing the theme and providing some teasers into your segments.

• The airing of your segments. For this I’d like to do an introduction to them that includes some speaking from you guys, just giving some insight into what your have created. This is just a desperate attempt from me to have some respite from being the only one speaking live, which would be no fun for me. Remember that I have from 5pm on Sunday to about 9:30am on Monday morning to listen to all the segments, line them up for broadcast, make any level adjustments on them that may need to be necessary, and generally put everything together. Not trying to be a complainer, just asking you guys to have a heart. Just realized that I didn’t check that we have this capacity for you guys to have a microphone input, hopefully we can

• I’ll be having Tweetdeck and Skype open so that any of those loyal listeners to ds106radio will have the opportunity to interact with our show in some capacity, since the concept of collaboration is key to the course. this might just be a comment/question-answer period. Don’t worry, I have no intention of this being too extensive, just giving the listeners a chance to contribute.
