Digital Humanities Boots Up on Some Campuses was an interesting read about what various universities (including UVA) are doing to incorporate new media in the classroom, focusing on literature courses, which, in my experience, have always seemed a little behind my other classes in terms of technology use.
Although my concentration is in creative writing, I’ve taken literature courses and, with the exception of Dr. Whalen, most of the professors I’ve had seemed like they just mastered how to make a power-point. I don’t think any most of the English professors I’ve had are unintelligent people, but they’re not exactly the most tech savvy, so it’s cool to see what people at other schools are doing to combine classic literature and emerging new media.
Anyway, this reminded me of ds106, so I thought I’d share.
