What You need to know about DS106

To everyone who is considering taking this class next year:
I personally truly enjoyed this class, it could get pretty overwhelming most of the time because you had to perform many tasks a week and that mixed in with all your other homework could become a bit frustrating. However, each different assignment or activity didn’t really take that much time. It was just the fact that there were so many of them made it a little stressful. There are a few main projects, and those did tend to get a bit lengthy especially because it required a whole process with different steps and a lot of diffrenent software such as Video Essays and Mashups/Remixes. If you’re tech savvy then this shouldn’t be a problem, but for someone like me who isn’t used to using a large variety of different computer software, it became really confusing and tedious. However, most of the assignments are actually a lot of fun and so if you just organize yourself, it’s not hard to turn things in on time especially since you have a whole week to do them.
All in all, I highly recommend this class, I’ve already recommended it to a lot of my friends. You really learn a lot about computers and most of the software that you’re required to download definitely helps you with your everyday life such as Screengrab so they’re definitely worth to have for the long run. Plus, this class is a great way to fulfill the Art Process Gen Ed.
Take this class! :)
