UMW Poster

Poster for the UMW Campaign. Trying to evoke the combination of Traditional setting with Contemporary education. Used three images; one 1930s aerial view of the campus landscape, one image taken of some of the buildings earlier, and one image of the interior of Monroe hall focusing on the murals. The shortcoming of this campaign is that it lacks a single iconic image, maybe some use of technology in one of the older halls would be better. But the question is what technology where? Something like laptops outside of the columns? Or maybe even better, something technical being done on the amphitheater, which could be the most iconic place on campus, if it were accessible.

Each of us created a different poster, but they failed in that they weren’t connected as well as they should be. Unless seen as a campaign highlighting different aspects, they don’t work as well. The three themes that the firm Daryl and Sons worked with are Social Diversity, Creating Scholars, and Contemporary Education in a Traditional Setting.
