The YouTube videos of Ira Glass talking about storytelling were interesting. I agree that the difficulties lie in the fusion of having a great idea, but having to support that idea with pertinent content. Without both, the attempt at the show will fail, and it will leave the listeners uninterested and even worse, bored. He went along with the concept of learning from failures that we discussed from the film Art Copy. I suppose that my main take from the series is that even if you have the creativity and ideas for an awesome program, you have to work hard and consistently to provide for a good product. If one continues to put out a poor product, then you can’t expect to be provided for unlimited chances, unless you happen to own the network or something.
