Caption or Cartharsis

Maybe I am too serious or emotional, but it was so difficult for me to look at the photos featured on The Boston Globe, read the original descriptions, and then generate my own.  It wasn’t because I couldn’t think of anything to say or new ideas, but I felt this pang of guilt just viewing photos that relate to more serious issues with a fun/playing around/creative sort of mindset.  All of the images told such a strong story in themselves that I believed I was undermining or convoluting an already powerful message…

I created two Big Caption projects for the same photo, both with the attempt to add a little optimism and humor for a what was originally an image from a very devastating situation.
