Thinker’s Ideas

Response to Gardner Campbell A Personal Cyberinfrastructure, “No More Digital Facelifts.” and Michael Wesch’s “From Knowledgeable to Knowledge-able”.

Both these thinkers are great participants? in Paulo Freire theory on how education should be…. (do not just bank information into student’s heads). Ever so often I sit in a class where the professor just talks and talks about ideas and concepts and after the class is over I have no idea what we just talked about. I am still learning all the new terms and concepts in the essay and the videos but the message is universal. student-teacher relationship in education is too much of a give and give with teachers giving and giving information and students hardly learning anything from it. Technology has been around us for a long time now but we keep waiting for someone to do something with it for us. New resources are being underutilized and potentials are going unfulfilled.

I am learning so much from this class. I will admit I am a little intimidated seeing all the experienced ds106 student’s work but it drives me to want to learn and ask How did you do that, I want to learn.

I say Gimme your best shot Dr. Ob!!!
