Album Cover

For my third Visual Assignment I created an album cover using a randomly generated quote, Flickr photo and Wikipedia article. The randomly generated Wikipedia article was on Whitlash, Montana. The name of this article, Whitlash, then became the title of my fictional band.
The last item on the randomly generated quote page was a quote from Ghandi: “Honest differences are often a healthy sign of progress.” I took the last five words from this quote to create a title for Whitlash’s album.
To find a picture for my album I followed the example in this tutorial. I searched on Fickr for photos that allow adaption and distribution. As I continued to follow the tutorial I experimented with Aviary for this first time and was able to use the program to finish my project. I was very impressed with Aviary, especially since I didn’t have to download anything to my computer.
Overall I found the tutorial extremely helpful because I previously did not know how to search for a random image on Flickr. Additionally, I now understand the differences between the various Creative Commons licenses on Flickr. So thank you Timmmmyboy! :)
