“Make a photograph of two complementary objects arranged to show their relationship to each other.”
Every puppy should have a boy. -Erma Bombeck
I learned something interesting from this photoshoot: The photo you ultimately choose to publish is not always the perfect one.
When I saw this shot, I didn’t think I would use it because of the red glare at the bottom, not to mention those goofy faces. But in the end, I think that’s why I decided to use it. another great thing about this shot? Didn’t edit it a single bit. I know that the angle is a little harsh–making it look like Stephen & the dog are about to fall over, perhaps–but it will do.
I got the idea for this photo late yesterday, and when Stephen finally had a free moment, the sun had already set. I knew that I could settle for a different subject to photograph, but I stuck with my gut and decided to wait, even if I didn’t get the “daily” photo in on the right day. It was worth it to me.
Thanks to my boyfriend for playing model for me, and to his dog, Pippin.
