The Shawshank Redemption has to be one of my favorite films of all time so needless to say it was one of the first options that came to mind for the four icon challenge assigment but I underestimated how difficult it would be for me to sum it up in  just 4 icons. The rock hammer and some representation of prison which I used a guard tower for were both a given and always a must for the final product. I toyed with a lot of different ideas such as possibly using a whiskey bottle, a Bible, a pair of shoes, or maybe even a lone tree. I got all the icon images from the Noun Project but the images wouldn’t download as picture files so I opened them up in gimp and converted them. I then compiled all 4 separate images into one and then put it into Picasa in order to finish it off and toy with some effects. I really like the way that the 4 icon challenge as it was presented by Kyle Tezak on his website so that is the general look I was trying to go for very simplistic and basic, though I would have loved to added a bit more color elements to it.
