“Make a photo of something that reminds you of that sense of childhood wonder.”
“There is a garden in every childhood, an enchanted place where colors are brighter, the air softer, and the morning more fragrant than ever again.” — Elizabeth Lawrence
Yesterday was my nephew’s birthday, and we celebrated merrily. I had a lovely time, particularly because the star of the evening was having a lovely time. There is nothing so contagious as a child’s happiness and love.
The festivities overwhelmed him a little bit, but he behaved himself so well. I snapped this picture after the guests had left and it only the family remained: Mom (his Mimi), Dad (his Pops), Sarah (his mother), and me (Aunt Leigh-Leigh) and my boyfriend. He was sweet to obey my request to sit down with the balloons and offer the camera a little smile.
Happy 6th, Marky!
