I imagine that after spending some time looking over the ds106 website, you’ve noticed that it is possible to submit an assignment. I think I might even have suggested an audio assignment or two from my main online identity a few months ago.

The point is that anyone involved with the ds106 experience is welcome to submit an idea for an assignment at anytime. I think it would blow many minds if a bunch of assignment suggestions came in from Tokyo over the next few weeks.

In fact an idea for an assignment came to me while reading Yusuke’s excellent mid-term practical activity blog post on guitars, audio and Eddie Van Halen. I still need to work out a few details, bout here’s what I have in mind so far:

Assignment Title: Troll Steals Axe Challenge (TSAC)

Assignment Premise: similar to the troll quote assignment TSAC will invoke guitars and guitar players. The idea has three parts:

1. Get an image of an iconic guitar that is associated with legendary guitar player 
2. Photoshop that guitar into the hands of another famous guitar player who plays a different guitar
3. Include an audio sample of a famous guitar solo by yet another famous guitar player

I will try to submit the description of the assignment to the ds106 site as soon as I can. Also I hope to do my own take on the assignment. My target is to complete it by the end of the weekend.
