Assignment 3

Tim O’Reilly’s “What is Web 2.0″ and Bryan Alexander’s “Web 2.0 Storytelling” I thought were both very much alike. To me the “Web 2.0″ isn’t just the innovation of better technology, but its also the social acceptance of using the web to tell your story. The “web 2.0″ allows users like myself to do MORE personalization with computers. For instance programs like python and app inventor allow users to create applications for smartphones such as the iPhone and droid series. Programs like Flickr, Facebook, and Twitter allow me to stay up to date with friends and family when i’m at school or on the road, however, web 2.0 made these programs possible by allowing every user to personalize their page. What does we 2.0 mean to me? To me it means little about the innovation of technology, but I strongly believe what relates the most is how people like myself were taught and showed how to use social media and the web 2.0.
