I HATE CATS!!!! I really hate them. A lot. I hate how they have claws and hide under furniture and jump out and attack your ankles. I hate when cats walk on counter tops or climb onto high cabinets or the top of the fridge and watch you from across the room with their little judgement eyes. I hate that they go to the bathroom in a box indoors. I hate that cats need no human interaction and would be perfectly happy to just wonder around the house all day and sleep. I hate that cats can sense that I hate them and gravitate to me just to spite me.

This is why I am a dog person. Dogs require your constant attention and are always excited to see you. They are so dopey that they would never judge you, mostly because they don’t understand what’s happening most of the time. Dogs can’t hide very effectively and it would never occur to a dog to pop out and scare their owner. This is why I am, and will always be, a dog person and will never ever ever ever live in a house with a cat.

Now that that rant is out of the way…..

This assignment is so ridiculous! I mean even I can see that when a fat cat is somewhere it shouldn’t be, it’s pretty funny! I got caught up in the latest fad that is fat-catting and that is why im working on this assignment; not because I like cats. I just want to make that clear. I still very much hate cats.

So I chose “American Gothic,” a painting from the 1930s that was done by Grant Wood. And then I chose a morbidly obese black and white cat. I just had him sit on the porch in the background. He looks like he fits in to the setting pretty well. I think these two grouchy people would like this cat. (They look like cat people.)

I used “Aviary” (the online photo editing program) to make this. First I uploaded the painting into a layer. Then I uploaded the fat cat to another layer. I cropped out the cat and moved just the cropped cat to a different layer. Then I pulled that layer to the top. Finally I just positioned him where I wanted him.

Another assignment down!! This one was two stars.

I’m starting to see the addictive qualities of DS106!! Now that I have the tools for the job, things are starting to get fun!!

(Also, yes, I’m blogging on a Friday night. I just got off of work and am being antisocial. Judge me! )
