Visual Assignment: Dream Visualization

Babies and Puppies! – The assignment was to create a visual representation of a dream that I had.

I had a deram that my housemate and I went to the store and we decided that we should adopt babies and puppies, so we did.  It was surprisingly easy.  It was an awesome dream (so much cuteness).  I think it’s because I had been watching videos like this the night before…

What does this mean to me?  I think it means I need to go adopt something a puppy and a baby.  The process is one that is hard to tell.   I am not very photoshop savvy, and I did a lot of experimenting.  I took a photo of my roomie and I and cut it in half and horizontally flipped the picture so that it looked like we were looking toward the middle (before we were looking in the same direction).

I then inserted the babies and puppies using quick-mask (I think that’s what it’s called) and did my best to make their coloring similar to the picture of me and my roomie.  After this, I made a few layers of my roomie and I so that I could use the eraser tool (with an opacity level of about 50%) and have a ghosty effect.  I wanted it to be dreamy so that’s why there’s a lot of overlap.  I feel like dreams I remember are sort of blurry. I liked this because it forced me to mess around with photoshop.  I feel more comfortable with the tools than I did yesterday, that’s for sure.
