Audio Assignment – Over-dramatic Reading (#ds106)

Felt like I was putting myself on the line with this one!

The assignment is to deliver an over-dramatic reading of something, anything really.

I have a love/hate relationship with Scotland’s unofficial national anthem so I thought I’d take the mick a bit by reading it in the style of Sir Ian McKellen.

You can find the full lyrics here, and this is the Corries singing it in 1975.

Method

Pretty straightforward. Recorded straight into Audacity using a headset mic. The sound quality is a bit poor (pops and hissing sibilance all over the place) but it does the job. I didn’t really need to do any editing. I’d recorded a few takes but in the end just went with the first.
