So, we decided to go to Pancho Villa one night and eat dinner. I love that place, so it’s always a fun time. Jackson got his high chair and was playing around with some silverware. After we ate, we were just taking turns holding him and talking. Then, we got a lemon.
The description: “Take any real life video and give us a play by play commentary on what we see. It can be a sports event, funny video or videogame gameplay. Make it funny, make it real, make it anything you want to be.”
The original example of Play by Play was my initial inspiration for wanting to do my own audio over a video. I found it to be pretty interesting and worthwhile. I didn’t want to invest my time in making something that I didn’t think other people would enjoy. That was my primary concern! I’m glad that wasn’t the case though.
Play by Play was my other pre-production assignment. There isn’t a lot of info in the post about what I was going to do, but I think I’ve definitely got something great here. This video is just absolutely fantastic. I know there are a lot of videos out there like this, but I just find this to be extremely funny and I hope you do too! What I’ve got is my son Jackson eating a lemon for the first time. He hasn’t had anything prior to this except breast milk and he made the funniest face! Once I saw the Play by Play assignment, I knew exactly what I was going to do.
I had already recorded the video a while back, so that was already taken care of. I uploaded it to FCPX and then detached the audio to delete the original audio. Then, I recorded over it with my own voice. That added the Play by Play effect (I believe) and I had an amazing time making it. I hope you all enjoy watching it!
