Cyberinfrastructure is something more specific than the network itself, but it is something more general than a tool or a resource developed for a particular project, a range of projects, or, even more broadly, for a particular discipline.

This really started my thought process after reading Gardner Campbell’s “A Personal Cyberinfrastructure.” The quote pin points the evolution of technology and how we project ourselves as individuals in this world. In many ways I agree with Campbell, about how higher education should be there as over time technology evolves and it should teach its students by preparing them.
As an artist, it is very hard to get ourselves out to the world. Sure, we have our usual networking sites like facebook, etsy, and tumblr, however if higher education can educate us, as Campbell has expressed in his article to be creative with our own websites, imagine how an artist can express themselves instead of hiring others to create a website. Imagine how our personal cyberinfrastucture can go beyond sharing information, but adding creativity and skill to create our own “identity.”
I believe that as time passes, more advanced technology will keep arriving, and as a community we need to educate each other to advance our skills and knowledge along side.
