designassignment 1

INSPIRATION; My first design assignment and am loving it already. While looking through the various assignments, I saw this and immediately knew what I was going to do for this project. The movie poster I chose to use is “The Blind Side” a 2009 movie which still remains one of my very favorites. I chose this movie because it represents what every minority wishes for- love from all, irrespective of color, race, language or gender. In this movie, a white family pretty much adopts a young teenage boy and welcome him into their house  by virtue of their young son’s relationship with him and despite the raised eyebrows from some friends and family. Together, they help this young man go from a student who was virtually failing all his classes to one who enters College and becomes a football star. What I love most about this movie is that it is actually a true story. I watch this movie and am brought to tears knowing that Once upon a time, blacks and whites couldn’t even sit in the same bus or attend the same school. We have a long way to go,nonetheless, we have come a long way!
