The remix assignment for the assignment one quote a day was to turn up the cheese, in other words to make it look and sound like one of those everyday cheesy lines.

When you think of something cheesy, the first thing that comes to mind are pick up lines that guys use. With that being said I chose to use a pickup line which I have refrained from using, but i’m sure some still do. The line is ” Hi, will you be my emergency contact?”.

In order to create a cheesy quote and background I used gimp. I searched google for some cheesy pick up lines and I think this one in particular was short and too the point. The quote allowed me to brainstorm some ideas that I can incorporate into the picture instead of just having a text box on a clear background. The ultimate cheesy colors are lime green, light blue, yellow, and a pinkish fade. I chose to incorporate all of those colors into my visual. In gimp I put the background color to be light pink, and created a text box which is where I typed my quote in yellow. I chose yellow because it gave a glair, and was easily seeable against the pink background. Because the quote is about being a emergency contact, I drew in some emergency symbols.  I drew a hazard sign a lime green color by using the paintbrush option, and I also drew an emergency signal in light blue.

I thought this was a really humorous assignment, and I had a blast doing it. Somethings that’s cheesy in the first place is really funny, but knowing that we’ve all had experiences of doing something cheesy ourselves makes it that much better. It was nice to create something cheesy, without getting the ridicule for doing it.
