PHOTOBLITZ!

I had so much fun on my photoblitz journey! It almost felt like a scavenger hunt, trying to find photos that fit into the proper categories. I decided to take a journey around campus to see what I could capture. My favorite place to take pictures was the amphitheater. Check out my full post!

CHECK OUT MY BEST OF SET!

I complied a few of my favorite photos! I can’t wait to watch this set grow throughout the semester! (Check out my full post!)

DAILY CREATES!

Wednesday’s Daily Create assignment was “Bald is beautiful! Photograph the egghead in your life!”

I chose a photo of my dad! He is ALWAYS wearing a hat, so it is somewhat rare to see his bald head, but he’s bald! I promise. He says that’s what happens when you live in a house with three women. WHOPPSIES, sorry dad!

Baldy

Thursday’s Daily Create assignment was “Draw an abstract picture of your favorite animal.”

I drew a turtle! (Obviously!) My last name is Pyrtle and it rhymes with turtle. When I was really little, kids use to make fun of me and call me a turtle (only because of my last name). Then I just started to reply with “I love turtles! They are my favorite!” And eventually the teasing stopped and I had turtles to thank for it! :)

TURTLE

Saturday’s Daily Create assignments was “Record one sound being interrupted by a totally different non related sound.”

I love listening to music when I am getting ready, but my blow dryer loves to rudely interrupt! If only blow dryers were silent.

10 STARS OF AWESOME VISUALS

I completed 4 different visual assignments this week and made two of them into tutorials! It was so cool exploring the assignment repository, such creative assignments!

The first visual assignment I did this week was Draw It and I created a How to draw a horse tutorial! This was my first tutorial and I loved creating it! It was time consuming, but a lot of fun!

DRAW IT AFTER

Next I completed A-Z photo collage and created a tutorial for this one as well! (The theme is GREEN!)

Green…

Apple, Beans, Caterpillar, Dinosaur, Eye, Frog, Grass, Hydrangeas,  Iguana, June bug, Ketchup, Leaf, Monster, Ninja, Olives, Parrot, Quartz, Rose, Salad, Turtle, Umbrella, Viper, Water lilies, X-box controller, Yoshi, Zucchini.

Then I decided to complete “Is that a… GHOST?!” I made myself into a ghost in “The ghost of ME!

And finally, I chose the visual assignment Splash the Color. I turned a picture of my cousin playing in the leaves black and white and then restored the color back to only him.  (Colorfully playing in a black and white world)

REFLECTION:

WHEW! This week was intense, but I feel extremely accomplished. My favorite part was doing 10 stars of visual assignments. I loved looking at all the different assignments and then figuring out how to do them! I also knocked out two of my tutorials! YAY! This week GIMP and I got up close and personal with each other, we are almost best friends. I am beginning to know quite a bit about it! I think this was my favorite week so far because of the amount of options we were given with the ten stars of visual assignments. It has been so cool looking at what everyone else chose to do!

I really like converging lines now! Now I am always pointing them out, I love the depth that they add to photos. Also, I really enjoy playing around with the angle of the pictures I was taking. I noticed that if you slow down and really plan out the photo in your head it turns out much better than if you were to just snap a ton of random shots. I can’t wait for next week!!! :)

Our radio group decided on a radio drama about a road trip. It is going to be a fictional story about a family who breaks down in the middle of nowhere. And through trying to resolve their issue of being stranded, they become a lot closer as a family. (View full post)
