This could get a bit personal…but here it goes.  In one of my classes we are working on our writer’s notebooks.  What is a writer’s notebook some of you may ask?  Well, it is something we all should be doing!  Especially aspiring writers (like myself) or people who just think their writing needs some practice.  We must write in this book 4 hours a week (or more) and this is not a diary- I am not just telling you about my day, I am writing real stuff.  I am writing about my emotions, my feelings, my desires, my hopes, my fears.  I am getting “down and dirty” if you will.

Step one of this journal was to personalize it.  Make it yours.  Make it pretty since you have to have this with you all semester (or your whole life).  On the front cover I have mostly words.  Things that I think describe me.  ”February” is on there because that is my birthday month- it is February 1st to be exact.  I have a lot of things letting people know that this book is full of stories such as “the story”, “real stories” “things about me”.  I have a little reminder saying, “free yourself” so when I feel restrained I remember to just let go.  In addition to that I have “fearless” and “Are you daring enough” to remind me to be just that: fearless and daring.  I have the word “little” on there because over the years of being short that seems to be like a second nickname to me.  I also have “love” on there because I still believe it is the greatest emotion in the world.  ”A life without love is no life at all” – another great quote.  Saving the best for last… I cunningly put lips on there with the word “vampire” on it.  I am a vampire fanatic, it is a sick obsession.  Like I scare myself sometimes with how much I love vampires (my favorite show is Vampire Diaries, obviously)- did I scare you yet ?

On the back of my book I seemed to put a lot more pictures.  I think I like the back better than the front- or maybe just wish I switched them around. I have “Aquarius” on there and all the characteristics of Aquarius’ because I love horoscopes and I really believe in them- I reflect many of the Aquarius’ personality type.  I have the word “Romance”, “Romantic” on there as well as two people on white horses kissing- I guess you could say that I am a romantic.  I love fairy tales, love stories, weddings, cliche for a girl I guess but whatever.  I stuck Wonder Woman in there too because she is my favorite superhero and I am un-patiently waiting for the day that they make a movie about her instead of superman, the black knight, captain america, and all that junk.  And again, best for last: Marilyn Monroe.  She is absolutely my idol and I love her.  Hence the reason she is the banner for this blog.  She is my role model and she changed the way for women.
